The Siemens Community Catalyst program was co-created with our community to acknowledge technology leaders who consistently contribute to the Siemens Community. Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis.

Nomination and program details

Q: How do I become a Siemens Community Catalyst (SCC)?

A: Community Catalysts are nominated by Siemens staff and the community. You can self-nominate, too. The Siemens Community Catalyst award is valid for one year, with the opportunity to re-qualify each year or to be granted alumni status.

The Siemens Community Catalyst program does not imply, create, or represent an employment relationship, nor the expectation of compensation.

Q: If I want to become a Catalyst, what do I need to do?

A: Siemens Community Catalysts are knowledgeable about Siemens Digital Industries Software products. Motivated by helping peers, they are willing to dedicate their own time to do so. They're thought leaders who share their expertise as speakers, presenters, and writers, consistently participating in the community ecosystem by starting discussions, answering questions, and sharing insights.

Q: If I am a Siemens employee who actively engages in the community and has product expertise, can I become a Catalyst?

A: Siemens employees and contractors are not eligible to participate in the program.

Q: How do you decide who is qualified to be a Community Catalyst?

A: Catalyst are approved into the program after a thorough review of their contributions to the Siemens community across the discussion forums, blogs, podcasts, social, and more. We evaluate not only the number of contributions, but their level of product expertise and positive engagement styles when engaging with other members.

Q: I am a current Community Catalyst. Do I have to re-apply each year to stay in the program?

A: Your Catalyst membership will continue each year without the need to re-apply, given that you have met the contribution requirements in the previous 12 months. If you do not meet the contribution requirements, you will be notified and granted Alumni status.

Q: When are nominations reviewed?

A: Community Catalyst nominations reviewed are reviewed twice a year, in the Spring and Fall.

Q: Will I be notified if my nomination is denied?

A: All nominations will be notified of their status 30 days after the review period. If your nomination is denied, you will be informed as to why.

Q: If my nomination is denied, will I be able to reapply?

A: You can always reapply, though please take careful consideration as to why you were not accepted before reapplying.

Q: Do Siemens Community Catalyst receive any sort of compensation for their status?

A: No. The Siemens Community Catalyst program does not imply, create, or represent an employment relationship, nor the expectation of compensation. Members willingly volunteer their time to contribute and give back their knowledge to the community.

Effective Date: 01/04/2022

By participating in the Siemens Community Catalyst Program ("SCC Program") you are agreeing to these program terms, the Siemens DIS Community: rules of participation, the Siemens terms of use, the Siemens data privacy notice, and any other terms included by Siemens DIS Software on the Site. If you don't accept these program terms, the Rules of Participation, the Siemens terms of use, the Siemens Data Privacy Notice, and any of the other terms, you are not allowed to participate in this program.

These program terms supplement the Siemens DIS Software terms of use, the Siemens data privacy notice, and any other terms included by Siemens on the Site. If there is a conflict between the Siemens terms of use and these program terms, the Siemens terms of use take precedence.

Siemens reserves the right to change, modify and/or eliminate the SCC program and/or all or any portion of these terms or any policy pertaining to the SCC program at any time and in its sole discretion.

Program terms are published here in the Private Member Community Group. If we make changes, we will post the amended program terms here and update the “Effective Date” above. We may also attempt to notify you in other ways. Unless we say otherwise, the amended terms will be effective immediately and your continued participation in the SCC Program after the amended terms are posted will confirm your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the amended terms, you must stop participating in the SCC Program.

Program overview

The SCC Program is an invitation-only, free to join community engagement program that recognizes, rewards and connects a select group of Siemens community members, who consistently distinguish themselves as generous, knowledgeable practitioners and respected thought leaders. Participation in the program is completely voluntary, at-will, and does not create or imply an employment relationship, nor any expectation of compensation.

Program elements

Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in the Siemens Community Catalyst program, you must register, or have previously registered, as a Siemens Community member, and you may not be an employee of Siemens.

Length of term and renewal: The Siemens Community Catalyst award is valid for one year, with the opportunity to requalify each year, or to be granted SCC alumni status.

Nominations process: Siemens staff and non-employee Siemens community members are invited to nominate eligible community members during the annual nomination period in February. Nominees are granted the title of SCC at the sole discretion of Siemens and SCC award recipients are announced in May at Realize LIVE.

Early termination: You may withdraw from the SCC program at any time. Just send an email to communitycatalyst.sisw@siemens.com. Likewise, if Siemens must remove you from the program prior to the end of your one-year term, we will inform you via email at the address you provide when you join the program.

Entitlements and expectations

As a member of the SCCs, you will receive a number of benefits during your term, such as the use of a digital badge, access to a private SCC community, increased privileges in the discussion forum, access to Siemens software products, access to Siemens product and business teams, and other networking, educational and professional development opportunities.

To re-qualify for the Community Catalyst award, SCC’s contributions over the previous program year will be compared with their peers in the program as well as new applicants. Candidates will be evaluated based on the degree to which they contribute regularly and meaningfully to the Siemens hosted community forum, as well as to the broader ecosystem of Siemens and third-party social media, technology, industry, business and educational platforms, events and activities (online and off). Successful candidates represent the Siemens community standard when it comes to generosity of spirit, know-how, inclusivity and professionalism.

SCC program members are independent of Siemens DISW. All activities, advice, and opinions expressed by members in the program should in no way be linked to Siemens DISW. Siemens DISW does not endorse, and has no responsibility for, the actions of the individual members or the content, advice, or information provided by the individual.

So long as you are an SCC program member, in addition to the rights and restrictions set forth in the license and services agreement accompanying the software made available to you under the SCC program, you have the right to use such software non-commercially to become familiar with its features and functions and to increase your proficiency for purposes of enhancing your participation in Siemens online and offline customer support communities.

If your status as a SCC member ends, you will no longer be entitled to any of the benefits of the SCC program. Further you must uninstall and discontinue use of any software you have received as a result of membership of the program.

Confidentiality and sensitive information

The SCC Program, benefits, and any information shared by Siemens are the confidential information of Siemens unless expressly stated otherwise. This includes information shared in the SCC Private Community Group.

As an SCC, Siemens may entrust you with certain information before the public is informed or provide you with certain confidential information. All SCCs are required to agree to a Non-Disclosure Agreement. All SCCs are bound by this Non-Disclosure Agreement and, pursuant to its terms, cannot discuss any material not already in the public domain.

If you are ever unsure whether certain material is already in the public domain, please reach out to communitycatalyst.sisw@siemens.com to confirm.

SCC program content creation

Any Siemens Community Catalyst generated-content (e.g., written blog, video chat participant, audio podcast participant, etc.) that is created in collaboration between the SCC program and an SCC (“Content”) may be shared and distributed by all parties involved, including Siemens and the SCC private community group. For the avoidance of doubt, the Content does not include information provided by SCC within a private discussion space of the program.

An SCC, upon accepting membership in the SCC program, gives permission for Siemens to share, reshare and distribute any Content created by the SCC. By submitting, posting or displaying Content, you give Siemens a perpetual, sublicensable, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such Content or derivative works thereof.

Privacy and protection of personal information

You agree to the use of your data in accordance with Siemens Digital Industries Software privacy policies.

Siemens collects information in order to administer the program:

Current Title / Role

Country of residence

Work/Home Address (for swag or other deliveries)

Email address to send SCC-related communication

Confirmation (or not) to use Siemens software made available to SCCs (e.g. NFR or beta products)

Information on the usage of Siemens software made available to SCCs (e.g. NFR or beta products)

Link to (e.g. the Siemens community profile page in order to add the SCC badge information and link to the SCC Directory)

To maintain status as a member in good standing, SCCs must notify the SCC program manager of any changes to information collected to administer the program.

Siemens uses and protects the information shared by the SCCs according to our data privacy notice.

Miscellaneous

Without notice to you, Siemens reserves the right to suspend or terminate your participation in the SCC program if Siemens determines in its sole discretion that you have violated these terms or that your participation in the SCC Program is unauthorized, deceptive, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful.

Should you be withdrawn from the program, you will be required to remove all SCC references in all forums including the Siemens Community, social media, LinkedIn, emails signatures, blogs, etc.

Acceptance of the Siemens Community Catalyst member designation constitutes permission for Siemens and its partners and agents to use the names and/or likenesses of Siemens Community Catalyst members for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Siemens Community Catalyst members may be required to execute additional agreements pertaining to use their names and/or likenesses, as a condition of maintaining Siemens Community Catalyst member status.
