What is Logistics data management?

Logistics data management is enabled using Siemens product support data management (PSDM) capabilities, offered as part of Teamcenter service lifecycle management (SLM).

Product support data management is based on the SAE Lifecycle Logistics Supportability Committee standard, GEIA-STD-0007. This standard defines an extensible markup language (XML) for delivering logistics product data via XML, ensuring interoperability and archiving. It supports designing products for maintainability, reliability and testability, optimizing lifecycle costs.

The Role of logistics data management

Product support/logistics data management encompasses logistics support analysis and product support analysis across material management, distribution, technical data management, maintenance, training, cataloging, configuration management, engineering support, repair parts management, failure reporting and analysis, and reliability growth.

PSDM facilitates the transfer of product knowledge from an OEM to the operator, ensuring they are properly prepared to operate, maintain, upgrade and manage the products they receive.

Integration with Teamcenter
