Empower continuous upskilling with credentials

Siemens delivers industry-relevant, quality-assured credentials that help engineers differentiate themselves in the job market and allow companies to recruit the talent required to drive digital transformation.

The world's first ABET-recognized credential provider

Siemens is now the world's first company to provide ABET-recognized industry credentials.

What are credentials?

A credential is a verification that a learner has acquired specific knowledge or skills. Unlike a traditional degree, credentials can be earned in hours, weeks or months as opposed to years. Credentials allow learners to enter the workforce with confidence, demonstrate their familiarity with emerging technologies and more.

How microcredentials help students prepare for industry

Dean Craig Downing of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology shares that his students are asking for microcredentials so that they may augment their degrees with verified learnings in specific concentrations to better prepare for today's industrial workplaces.

Why credentials matter

For learners, credentials offer a way to showcase their understanding of industry-relevant topics.

For industry leaders, credentials offer the ability to validate candidates' qualifications and find talent with the right skills for their unique organizational needs.

For educators, credentials enrich your curriculum and equip your students with verified proof of in-demand skills and practical knowledge.

ABET recognition and quality assurance

“Design for the Circular Economy” courses and specializations that make up the microcredential are developed around the educational goals of providing technical, business, and leadership knowledge and skills that inspire the transformation towards a more circular economy. This includes gaining technical knowledge to apply circular economy principles in product design: minimizing waste and maximizing impact; developing business acumen to implement innovative circular economic models that prioritize sustainability and resilience; and acquiring leadership strategies to communicate effectively and inspire change within an organization.

This microcredential created in collaboration with CU Boulder is the first industry credential to receive ABET recognition under its Certificate Recognition Standards, demonstrating Siemens' commitment to quality assurance.
